Book an appointment
An appointment is a scheduled slot with a provider, service, and care modality. Booking is not an encounter — care starts later when the organization opens the episode.
Two booking paths
Membership booking uses your plan and its service limits. Private-service booking is a separate path for services outside that entitlement.
Choose the path
Section titled “Choose the path”Membership booking and private-service booking open from different menu items. There is no in-flow switch that changes the commercial channel after you start.
- Sign in to the Patient Portal.
- Open membership booking for plan benefits, or private-service booking for services outside the plan.
- Pick a time first then a provider, or a provider first then a time — whichever order the path shows.
Rules that apply on the patient side
Section titled “Rules that apply on the patient side”- Self-service booking needs at least 2 hours before the appointment start.
- Bookable times come from provider availability. A provider cannot take overlapping scheduled services.
- Membership booking follows the plan’s service category limits and remaining quota.
- Private-service confirmation may still require the provider or organization to complete payment collection. Online checkout is not a guaranteed step in this help.
If you see no times
Section titled “If you see no times”- Confirm you are on the correct booking path (membership vs private).
- Try another service, modality, site, or day.
- Ask your organization if the service is enabled and the provider has published availability.
After you confirm, the appointment appears in Manage appointments.
