Invite users
Organization access is not membership
An invitation grants organization access and a role. It does not create a patient membership plan. Vital Link sends and expires the access invite; sign-in is separate.
IPS Organization Portal
Section titled “IPS Organization Portal”- Open Organization Portal → user management.
- Create an invite with the email and intended role (Admin, Coordinator, Provider, or Administrative — only roles you are allowed to invite). Member is not pickable.
- The person signs in (or creates an account) and opens the invite link.
- Accept requires a verified email that matches the invite.
Do not treat a sign-in-only organization ticket as the Vital Link invite.
Invites expire after a short period (on the order of days). Seat managers (Admin or Coordinator on an IPS) can revoke an invite or send a new link.
Independent Provider
Section titled “Independent Provider”Independent Providers invite Administrative help from Independent Portal → users. Details: Manage users.
If the person already has access
Section titled “If the person already has access”If organization access already exists for that user and organization, accept does not change the role. Leftover invites clear. Change roles in user management, or remove access and invite again.
Common failures
Section titled “Common failures”| What they see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Link expired or revoked | Send a new invite |
| Email mismatch | They must verify the invited email on the account |
| Role did not change | They already had access; edit the user instead |
